Honey Beer Glazed Wings
Our Patriots didn’t make it to the Super Bowl, but it doesn’t mean we can’t participate in the festivities on game day. To many, it’s all about the game, but to others it’s all about the food (and halftime). I pledge allegiance to the latter camp. I have been working on a new wing recipe for the special occasion. These beer-glazed wings (drumettes) are crispy and finger-licking good. My guinea pigs…I mean family…has given them a firm stamp of approval.
Whether or not you agree who deserves the title, Seahawks or Broncos (thanks Google for the info! But if it’s not the Pats, does it really matter?), you will agree these wings are great party food. Serve them up on Super Bowl Sunday on February 2 (once again, thanks Google). The recipe can easily be multiplied, so be sure to have enough on hand!
If you are not into football or game day, make these awesome wings any day you want. It’s a crowd-pleasing appetizer that is not to be missed! Try this out and enjoy!!

Description
These crispy Honey Beer Glazed Wings are baked chicken wings in a sweet and salty honey beer glaze. These wings are perfect for a Super Bowl party or any game day.

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400° F.
- Pat drumettes dry with paper towels. Season with 1/2 rounded teaspoons of salt and pepper. Grease one large or two small baking pans. Place drumettes, skin side down on pans. Allow space between each piece. Overcrowding may produce too much liquid during baking. Bake on the lower half of the oven for 30 minutes. Drain any excess liquid. Move the baking sheet(s) to the top half of the oven. Bake for 20 additional minutes.
- Whisk cornstarch and beer in a small mixing bowl. Some foaming will occur. Set aside.
- Place a small saucepan on medium heat. Add oil and onion. Cook for 1 minute. Increase heat to medium-high. Add beer and cornstarch mixture. Cook, stirring constantly until liquid boils and thickens slightly. Add soy sauce, honey, and 1/8 black pepper. Stir until the sauce is thick and smooth, another minute or so. If needed, adjust the seasoning to taste. Do so by adding soy sauce for more saltines and honey for more sweetness.
- Place drumettes into a large mixing bowl. Pour glaze onto wings and mix. Garnish with peanuts and parsley. Plate and serve.
- Yields about 27 drumettes depending on size. Makes 6 appetizer servings.
Note
- Although I haven’t done it, if you would like less pronounced taste of beer, I would suggest replacing some of it with chicken broth.

So I'm not a game day kinda gal, I'm more of a food kind of gal too, so this recipe had me when I saw the title. I must try these soon, they look fabulous!
