What you will love:
- Requires only four ingredients—store-bought caramelized onion dip, shredded pizza cheese, whole peppercorns, and a tube of pizza dough.
- Easy prep—these bunny pinwheels require about 15 minutes of prep time and 15 minutes of baking.
- Delicious taste—the sweetness and toastiness of the caramelized onion, the slight tanginess of the dip, the tenderness of the pizza dough, and the gooey cheese make a mouthful of flavor.

Recipe highlights:
- Form the pizza dough into an 11″ x 17″ rectangle. Top with the onion dip and cheese.
- Cut the dough into twelve 17-inch long strips, then cut a 4.25-inch section off the strips.
- Roll a long strip into a pinwheel head and an ear. Transfer the bunny head to the baking sheet.
- Fold each short strip onto itself to form the second ear. Attach it to the head. Repeat forming the remaining strips into bunny heads.
- Secure the ears with toothpicks and add peppercorn eyes.
- Bake for 14-16 minutes or until golden brown, switching the rack position halfway.
- Detailed instructions are in the recipe card below.

How to serve:
While these bunny pinwheels are ideal for the Easter buffet table, there are numerous other ways to serve them. Enjoy them as an appetizer, a snack, or a side dish.
As a side dish, pair them with ham and mashed potatoes, a grilled steak dinner, or Rosemary Garlic Wings alongside a salad!
Store and reheat:
Store these bunny pinwheels in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to four days.
To reheat, place the pinwheels on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated 350° F oven until heated through. If the pinwheels brown too quickly, tent with a sheet of aluminum foil. Alternatively, microwave them on an oven-safe plate until heated through.

Recommended supplies:
(Affiliate links. The products I recommend are either what I use, are on my wish list, or come highly rated.)
- Silicone tip spatula—to spread the onion dip onto the pizza crust.
- Baking sheet and cooling rack—I have had this extra-large set for years and use it all the time. Or bake on two smaller baking sheets.
- Parchment paper—to offer a nonstick surface for the pinwheels to bake on, avoiding spreading as oil would.
- Pizza cutter—for cutting the pizza dough into strips.

Ingredients
Recommended supplies:
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375° F. Position two oven racks on the upper section of the oven. Line one extra large baking sheet or two standard-size baking sheets with parchment paper. Set aside.
- Remove the pizza dough from the tube. Use your hands to gently press it to an approximately 11″ x 17″ rectangle. Spread the onion dip to cover the top. Add the shredded cheese.
- Use a pizza cutter to slice twelve 17-inch long strips. Run the pizza cutter across the strips to slice off a 4.25-inch section. There should now be one side of long strips and one side of short strips.
- Take one long strip and roll 2/3 of it into a pinwheel. Fold the loose flap onto itself to form a bunny ear. Carefully transfer the bunny head to the baking sheet, cut side up.
- Fold one of the 4.25-inch strips onto itself, pressing the cut ends to seal. Attach it to the head to form the second ear, pressing on the seam to secure it. Repeat forming the bunny heads with the remaining strips, placing them 3 inches apart on the cookie sheet(s).
- Insert a toothpick at the base of each ear, starting from the outside and pushing towards the center of the head to secure the seams. Position the ears into a “V” shape, making sure the pizza dough is standing upright, not floppy. Add the peppercorn eyes.
- Bake on the lower of the two racks if using one baking sheet, and bake one on each rack if using two baking sheets. Bake for 8 minutes, then move the baking sheet to the top rack if using one baking sheet, and swap racks if using two baking sheets. Bake for an additional 7 minutes or until the tops are lightly golden. Serve hot.
- Makes 10 servings.
Note:
- Baking on the top shelves and rotating the racks promotes even baking. The bottoms of the bunnies tend to brown faster than the tops, and placing them in the middle of the oven leads to the bottoms browning too quickly.
